Set Information

Astral Radiance is part of the Sword and Shield era of the Pokemon TCG, released as the tenth main expansion under that series (SWSH10). The set introduced Origin Forme legendary Pokemon and a range of powerful Trainer cards, with Adaman being among the notable Supporter inclusions. The SWSH10 Adaman Secret Rare sits outside the standard 189-card set numbering, placing it firmly in the collectible tier that many players and collectors actively pursue.

Card Text and Playability

Adaman is a Supporter Trainer card, meaning it can be played once per turn from your hand as your Supporter for that turn. His effect supports strategies centred around Metal-type Pokemon, making him a relevant inclusion in decks built around that type. The Adaman Secret Rare version carries identical gameplay text to the standard print, so it functions exactly the same in a legal deck while offering a premium visual finish.

For players interested in building or expanding their Sword and Shield era collection, the Pokemon TCG Sword and Shield Pokemon GO V Battle Decks: Mewtwo vs Melmetal is another strong option from the same era worth exploring.

Condition and Grading

Cards are handled with care and stored appropriately prior to dispatch. When purchasing singles, condition is an important factor for both gameplay and long-term collectible value. Here is a general guide to standard TCG card condition grades:

• Near Mint (NM): Minimal to no visible wear, sharp corners, clean surface. Ideal for grading submission or display.
• Lightly Played (LP): Very minor wear such as slight edge scuffs, still excellent for play and display.
• Moderately Played (MP): Noticeable wear including whitening on edges or surface scratches. Fully playable.
• Heavily Played (HP): Significant wear. Suitable for casual play only.

If you are planning to submit your Adaman 199/189 Astral Radiance card for professional grading, Near Mint condition is the standard collectors aim for to achieve the highest possible grade return.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Secret Rare mean for this card?

A Secret Rare card is numbered beyond the official set total. For Astral Radiance, the standard set contains 189 cards. Adaman is numbered 199/189, placing it above that total, which is the defining characteristic of a Secret Rare in the Pokemon TCG.

Is the Adaman 199/189 the same as the Rainbow Rare version?

Yes. In Pokemon TCG collector terminology, Secret Rare cards with the full Rainbow holographic treatment are commonly referred to as Rainbow Rares. The Adaman 199/189 from Astral Radiance carries that finish and is the same card referenced under both names.

Does this card have the same effect as the standard Adaman print?

Yes. The Secret Rare version of Adaman shares identical card text with other prints of the same card. The difference is purely cosmetic, the Rainbow Rare finish does not affect gameplay function in any way.

What set does Adaman 199/189 belong to?

Adaman 199/189 is from the Astral Radiance expansion, set code SWSH10, part of the Pokemon TCG Sword and Shield series.

Is this card legal for tournament play?

Card legality in organised play is determined by the Pokemon Company International and their current format rotation. We recommend checking the official Pokemon TCG website for the most up-to-date legality information before using any card in a sanctioned event.

What condition should I aim for if I want to get this card graded?

For grading submissions, Near Mint is the standard collectors target. Cards with sharp corners, clean surfaces, and no visible scuffs or scratches typically receive the highest grades from professional grading services.
