Attack and Ability Overview

Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex brings two key mechanics to the table that make it worth understanding before you sleeve it up or send it to grading.

The Power Saver ability adds a layer of strategic depth, creating a conditional effect that interacts with how energy is managed during play. The Erasure Ball attack is the primary offensive move on this card, delivering damage output consistent with a high-HP basic ex at this stage of the Scarlet & Violet format.

Together, Power Saver and Erasure Ball give Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex a distinct identity compared to other Psychic ex cards in the Destined Rivals set.

Set Information

Destined Rivals is the tenth main expansion in the Scarlet & Violet series, released under the SV10 set code. The set carries regulation mark I, placing it within the current standard rotation alongside other late-series Scarlet & Violet expansions. With 182 cards in the main set, Destined Rivals features a strong lineup of ex cards, and card number 81 sits firmly within the Double Rare tier of pulls.

If you are building out your Destined Rivals collection, the Destined Rivals Booster Box | 36 Packs | SV10 is a natural companion to this single, giving you a full box experience to chase additional pulls from the set.

Condition and Grading Options

This listing is for a raw (ungraded) single card. Raw cards are ideal for players who want to put the card straight into a deck, as well as for collectors who plan to submit the card for independent grading through services such as PSA or BGS.

For collectors targeting a PSA 10 copy of Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex 81/182, buying a raw card and evaluating it against centering, surface, edges, and corners before submission is a common approach. The holofoil finish on Double Rare ex cards from Destined Rivals means surface condition is especially important to assess before grading.

All cards are handled with care during packaging to preserve condition from the point of sale through delivery.

Why Collect Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex?

Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex 81/182 sits at the intersection of two things collectors respond to: a recognizable Pokémon with deep franchise history, and a thematic twist through the Team Rocket branding that makes this version distinct from standard Mewtwo ex releases.

The aky CG Works illustration brings a sharp, high-contrast visual style to the holofoil treatment, making this card appealing both in hand and in a graded slab display. As a basic ex with 280 HP in the Scarlet & Violet format, it also holds relevance for players, not just collectors.

If you enjoy collecting cards that tie into broader Pokémon lore and themed releases, the Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex Box | Pokemon TCG Collection Box is a related product worth exploring, as it builds on the same theme as this single.

For collectors who enjoy premium ex-focused products across the Scarlet & Violet line, the Cynthia’s Garchomp ex Premium Collection Box is another strong addition to consider alongside this card.
