The One Piece Card Game by Bandai is fast, strategic, and easy to learn. This beginner’s guide explains the basics so you can play your first game with a starter deck.

What You Need

• A Leader card: it starts in play and sets your deck’s color and Life total.
• A 50 card deck: characters, events, and stages that match your Leader’s color, with up to 4 copies of each card.
• A DON!! deck of 10 cards: the resource you use to play cards and power up attacks.

A One Piece starter deck includes everything you need to start.

Setting Up

Place your Leader face up, shuffle your deck, and draw 5 cards. Then place cards from the top of your deck face down as your Life cards, equal to the Life value printed on your Leader.

Turn Structure

1. Refresh: stand up your rested cards and return attached DON!! to your cost area.
2. Draw: draw 1 card (the first player skips this on their first turn).
3. DON!!: add 2 DON!! cards to your cost area (the first player adds 1 on their first turn).
4. Main: play characters, events, and stages by resting DON!!, attach DON!! to give +1000 power each, and attack.
5. End: pass the turn.

Attacking and Defending

Your Leader and characters attack by resting. You can attack the opponent’s Leader or one of their rested characters. The defender can use Blocker characters to redirect the attack, or play Counter cards from their hand to add power. If the attack’s power is equal to or higher than the target’s, it succeeds.

How to Win

When your Leader takes damage, you add a Life card to your hand, and some Life cards have Trigger effects you can activate. If your Leader takes damage while you have no Life cards left, you lose. You also lose if you need to draw and your deck is empty.
