Resealed products are boxes that someone opened, searched or swapped packs from, and then wrapped again to sell as new. They are one of the biggest risks when buying sealed Pokémon products from unknown sellers. Here is how to check a booster box or Elite Trainer Box before you open it.
Check the Shrink Wrap
Factory shrink wrap is tight, clear, and smooth, with neat corners. Loose, baggy, cloudy, or wrinkled wrap is a warning sign, as is wrap that is noticeably thicker than usual.
Look for Poké Ball Logos
Modern English Pokémon booster boxes are wrapped in shrink wrap printed with small Poké Ball logos. Plain wrap on a modern English booster box should make you suspicious.
Inspect the Seams
Factory wrap has clean, consistent seams. Multiple seams, melted or uneven edges, or heat gun marks suggest the box was rewrapped by hand.
Check for Glue, Tape, and Damage
Look at the box flaps and corners through the wrap. Glue residue, tape, torn cardboard, or flaps that do not sit flat all point to a box that has been opened.
Check the Packs After Opening
Once opened, packs should be tightly crimped at the top and bottom with no signs of being cut or resealed. Packs that look loose or have uneven crimps are a red flag.
Buy From a Trusted Store
The best protection is buying from a retailer that guarantees factory sealed product. Every booster box and ETB at TCGFront ships in its original factory packaging and is never opened or resealed. Shop Pokémon booster boxes and Elite Trainer Boxes, or buy a sealed display case for complete peace of mind.
